전통연희연극 “금산총대놀이” 공연, 전통과 현대의 조화

 

오는 2024년 7월 26일 금요일 저녁 7시, 금산다락원소극장에서 전통연희연극 "금산총대놀이"가 공연된다. 이번 공연은 전통과 현대를 아우르는 독특한 연희극으로, 관객들에게 깊은 감동과 재미를 선사할 예정이다.

 

"금산총대놀이"는 총 7개의 마당으로 구성된 전통연희극이다. 각 마당은 신통력, 구원, 악의 상징, 인연, 불신, 타락, 해후 등의 주제를 다루며, 다양한 춤과 상징적인 캐릭터들이 등장한다. 첫째 마당에서는 총대가 자신의 신통력을 발휘하여 역병에 걸린 들풀들을 치유하고, 촌장 미듭을 소생시키려는 이야기가 펼쳐진다. 둘째 마당에서는 악의 상징인 늑대와 구원의 상징인 산신 할메가 등장하여 총대의 소생을 방해하고 구원하는 장면이 그려진다.

 

셋째 마당에서는 총대와 셋대의 인연과 땡추중의 방해를 중심으로 한 이야기가 전개되며, 넷째 마당에서는 총대와 셋대가 인연의 매듭을 맺기 위해 노력하는 장면이 그려진다. 다섯째 마당에서는 총대와 셋대의 인연을 방해하는 땡추중의 등장과 그로 인한 갈등이 중심이 되며, 여섯째 마당에서는 총대가 타락의 상징들과 주색잡기에 빠지는 장면이 묘사된다. 마지막 일곱째 마당에서는 총대와 셋대가 오랜 시간 후에 다시 만나 용서를 구하고 화해하는 장면이 펼쳐진다.

 

이번 공연의 특징은 전통적인 춤과 음악을 현대적인 해석으로 재구성하여 관객들에게 새로운 감동을 선사하는 것이다. 각 마당마다 등장하는 상징적인 캐릭터와 춤을 통해 이야기를 풍부하게 전달하며, 인간의 구원과 희망, 공동체의 중요성 등 깊은 메시지를 담고 있다. 모든 등장인물은 캐릭터 가면을 쓰고 연희 연기를 펼치며, 독특한 움직임과 새로운 춤의 양식에 10여 곡의 작창 판소리 형태를 접목하는 예술적 수월성을 갖춘 공연으로 금산군만의 전통연희극을 만들 것이라고 박한열 연출은 밝혔다.

 

“금산총대놀이” 공연은 충남문화재단 지역특화문화브랜드 지원사업 공모사업에서 선정되어 일부 지원을 받아 제작된다. 또한, 금산콘텐츠코리아랩이 제작하고 전문예술단체 극단도화원이 주관하는 이번 공연은 극단도화원의 대표 박한열이 직접 대본을 창작하고 연출을 맡아 더욱 기대를 모으고 있다. 작창은 임인숙(서도소리 보존회 대전지회장), 금산국악원 박태구, 의상은 박은희, 무대미술은 박태경이 맡았다.

 

출연진으로는 조주현, 김민균, 박신영, 박영순, 김양중, 신기만 등이 참여하여 각자의 역할을 통해 이야기를 풍부하게 전달할 예정이다.

Traditional Performance “Geumsan Chongdae Nori” to Showcase Harmony of Tradition and Modernity

 

On Friday, July 26, 2024, at 7 PM, the traditional performance “Geumsan Chongdae Nori” will be held at Geumsan Darakwon Small Theater. This unique performance blends traditional and modern elements, promising to deliver deep emotions and entertainment to the audience.

 

“Geumsan Chongdae Nori” is a traditional play composed of seven acts, each dealing with themes such as supernatural powers, salvation, symbols of evil, fate, distrust, corruption, and reunion. The first act features Chongdae using his supernatural powers to heal diseased plants and revive the village chief, Mideup. The second act introduces the wolf, a symbol of evil, and the mountain spirit Halme, a symbol of salvation, who both interfere with Chongdae’s revival.

 

The third act focuses on the relationship between Chongdae and Setdae, and the interference of the monk Ddaengchu. In the fourth act, Chongdae and Setdae strive to tie the knot of fate. The fifth act centers on the conflict caused by Ddaengchu’s interference in Chongdae and Setdae’s relationship. The sixth act depicts Chongdae’s fall into debauchery with symbols of corruption. The final act shows Chongdae and Setdae reuniting after a long time, seeking forgiveness and reconciliation.

 

This performance is characterized by its reinterpretation of traditional dance and music in a modern context, offering a fresh emotional experience to the audience. Each act features symbolic characters and dances that richly convey the story, delivering profound messages about human salvation, hope, and the importance of community.

 

The “Geumsan Chongdae Nori” performance is supported by the Chungnam Cultural Foundation’s Regional Cultural Brand Support Project. It is produced by Geumsan Content Korea Lab and organized by the professional theater company Dohwawon. Notably, the script was created and directed by Park Han-yeol, the representative of Dohwawon.
